At the “Dečiji dani” kindergarten, we started with a clear, ambitious goal: for volunteers from the association Discover Belgrade to plant a total of 2,000 cherry laurel saplings in Belgrade kindergartens and schools during 2025. This first action was more than just planting – it was the beginning of an interconnected story about a city that is restoring greenery where it matters most: in the spaces where children grow up, learn, and play.

To ensure the action was organized and of high quality, Discover Serbia provided a complete support package: procurement and delivery of seedlings, all necessary tools and materials, as well as on-site coordination. Our expert team led the entire planting process, provided clear instructions, and ensured that everything was done correctly, so that the seedlings had the best chance of taking root and growing. It is especially important to us that the children themselves were involved in the planting, not only as observers, but as active participants who, together with the volunteers, planted, watered, and learned how to care for greenery. In the coming period, with the support of the educators, the children will have the task of monitoring the seedlings, watering them, and protecting them, as true little guardians of the yard.

Such actions are the best way to ensure that ecological awareness does not remain just words, but becomes a habit and experience. When a child participates in planting, they gain a sense of responsibility and pride, and the kindergarten gets a more beautiful and healthier space for play.
