Discover Serbia and GoGreen Team, united in ecological efforts, organized a successful Lake Perućac cleaning action, achieving an impressive result of 428 collected bags of waste, equivalent to 28 cubic meters of refuse. This initiative had significant impact, with participation from enthusiastic volunteers, national park representatives, and experts from the Discover Serbia association.

Vladimir Pavlović, B.Sc. in Forestry, President of the Discover Serbia association, delivered the opening speech before volunteers embarked on the action. Ecological training provided participants with guidelines on the importance of their contribution to preserving the lake and its surroundings.

The action was conducted using boats from the Discover Serbia Ecological Fleet, with a predetermined plan and program. Two speedboats were responsible for safety, while a catamaran-restaurant followed the regatta, providing participants with refreshments and necessary services.

Equipped with protective vests and neoprene boots, volunteers began the Lake Perućac cleaning action. The working principle was consistent with previous actions, and the action flow was identical to the successful initiative at Lake Međuvršje.

The Director of Tara National Park, Mr. Dragić Karaklić, attended the action with his 8 rangers, providing support and emphasizing the importance of joint work in preserving natural resources.

Upon completion of the cleaning, all participants had the opportunity to enjoy an organized lunch at the catamaran restaurant, which provided an opportunity for fellowship and reflection on what was accomplished.

This action, conducted on July 7, 2023, represents another step in the series of ecological initiatives that Discover Serbia continuously implements to preserve nature and raise awareness about the importance of environmental care.
