One ton less waste – one step closer to a cleaner Sava with the support of Eridan and Eco Serein

The Sava River is one of Belgrade’s most important natural resources, but unfortunately it faces large amounts of waste every day, ending up on its banks and in the riverbed itself. Although it flows through the heart of the capital and is a place for gathering, recreation, and the daily life of thousands of people, many parts of the riverbank remain exposed to pollution. That is precisely why initiatives like this are of exceptional importance—not only because of the amount of waste removed, but also because of the message they send: caring for nature is the responsibility of all of us.

Organized by the Discover Serbia team, with the support of Eridan and Eco Serein, a major environmental clean-up of the Sava River was carried out on May 31. Thanks to the dedication of volunteers, employees, and friends of these companies, in just one day as much as one ton of waste was collected and a significant area of the riverbank and riparian zone was cleaned. We are especially pleased that Eridan and Eco Serein joined us as new partners in creating positive change, demonstrating that responsible business also means active care for the community and the environment.

When a good example becomes an inspiration

This initiative gained special value thanks to numerous influencers and content creators who took part in the clean-up and shared messages on social media about the importance of protecting rivers and nature. In this way, the impact of the initiative went beyond the event itself and reached thousands of people, who could see how much each individual can contribute to positive change. We sincerely thank Eridan and Eco Serein, all volunteers, and everyone who took part in this initiative. We believe this is only the beginning of a successful collaboration, and we look forward to new joint actions that will contribute to cleaner rivers, a healthier environment, and greater environmental awareness in our society.
