  • 3,000m of maintained trails

Three kilometers of trail back in use

The main task of the volunteers was to cover the hiking trail with wood chips.

The participants distributed and evenly applied the wood chips along the route, which improved the trail’s passability and created a more pleasant and safer space for walkers, hikers, families, and other visitors to Fruška Gora.

Thanks to the great dedication of the volunteers, three kilometers of trail were maintained, which was put back into use after the completion of the works.

This method of maintenance is particularly important on forest and wet sections, as wood chips contribute to a more stable surface, facilitate visitor movement, and help preserve the trail itself.

Action carried out before the start of the tourist season

The action was carried out just before the start of the tourist season, which gives the achieved results additional value.

Fruška Gora attracts a large number of day-trippers, hikers, families, and nature lovers during the spring and summer months. Therefore, it was extremely important that the trail be maintained and prepared in a timely manner for an increased number of visitors.

Through the work of Go Green company volunteers, the tourist and recreational infrastructure of the National Park has been improved, and visitors are now able to spend time in nature more safely and pleasantly.

This action demonstrates that corporate volunteering can address specific needs of a protected area and yield results that will benefit thousands of people.

The area around the hiking trail was also cleaned

In addition to maintaining the trail itself, volunteers cleaned up waste from its immediate surroundings.

Trash left by irresponsible visitors was removed, which improved the appearance of the area and reduced the negative impact of waste on the forest ecosystem.

By cleaning the surrounding area, volunteers contributed to the preservation of Fruška Gora’s natural environment and sent a clear message that spending time in nature also implies responsibility towards the space we visit.

Volunteers who left a visible mark

All 60 Go Green company volunteers worked diligently on maintaining the trail and cleaning its immediate surroundings.

Covering three kilometers of trail required good organization, physical engagement, and teamwork. Volunteers transported, distributed, and evenly applied a large quantity of wood chips, working together through all designated sections.

Their dedication ensured that the planned tasks were completed and that the trail was prepared for use on the same day.

We extend special thanks to all volunteers of the Go Green company, who demonstrated that social responsibility gains true meaning when translated into concrete work and measurable results on the ground.

Support from Fruška Gora National Park

The action was carried out with the expert and logistical support of the Public Enterprise “Fruška Gora National Park”.

Collaboration with the expert services of the National Park was of great importance for selecting the location, defining tasks, and directing volunteer work towards activities that were needed in the area at that time.

Thanks to this cooperation, the action was not just a one-day gathering of employees, but a planned project that addressed a specific need of the National Park.

Discover Serbia extends special thanks to the Public Enterprise “Fruška Gora National Park” for their trust, expert support, and assistance in implementing the action.

Go Green earned 2,092 CSR points

Based on the number of participants, the scope of work performed, the length of the maintained trail, the ecological contribution, and the achieved result, the Go Green company earned a total of 2,092 CSR points.

CSR points represent a measurable indicator of a company’s contribution to environmental protection and the local community.

In the case of this action, the result is clearly visible on the ground: three kilometers of maintained and passable trail, a cleaner environment, and an improved space for all future visitors to Fruška Gora.

Fruška Gora – a natural treasure we must preserve

Fruška Gora represents one of the most significant natural, tourist, and recreational areas in Serbia.

Its forests, hiking and walking trails, picnic areas, and viewpoints attract a large number of visitors throughout the year. At the same time, intense visitation requires continuous care for the trails, furniture, cleanliness, and preservation of the natural space.

Therefore, actions like this are extremely important. They not only provide short-term maintenance of the area but also encourage a more responsible attitude towards nature and demonstrate how companies and their employees can actively contribute to the preservation of protected areas.

Joint action with lasting results

The ecological action by the Go Green company on Fruška Gora showed how much can be achieved when volunteer energy, expert support, and good organization come together.

Behind the 60 volunteers remained:

  • three kilometers of maintained hiking trail;
  • wood chips laid and evenly distributed;
  • the trail put back into use;
  • the area in the immediate vicinity of the trail cleaned;
  • a total of 2,092 CSR points earned.

We especially thank the Go Green company, all its volunteers, the Public Enterprise “Fruška Gora National Park,” and the members of the Discover Serbia team who participated in the preparation and implementation of the program.

With this action, we have shown that corporate volunteers can leave a concrete, visible, and lasting mark on nature.

The trail is maintained, nature is cleaner, and Fruška Gora is more ready for the new tourist season.
