As many as 35 volunteers gathered to give the yard of the “Zemunski biser” kindergarten a completely new look in just a few hours. Thanks to the collaboration with Microsoft, the Discover Serbia team successfully completed another project, making this the third kindergarten in Zemun to receive a makeover this year. With smiles, positive energy, and collective effort, the playground equipment was renovated, wooden structures were repaired, and many elements of the yard were refreshed.

The Discover Serbia team provided complete logistics and expert support, as well as all necessary materials, tools, and paints, but the greatest value to this project was given by the – volunteers. With incredible energy, dedication, and team spirit, together with a craftsman, they replaced worn-out boards on benches, painted playground equipment, goals, and play structures, and breathed new life into the space where children grow up every day. Creative drawings and colors that the volunteers brought with their work refreshed the concrete surfaces of the playground and paths, transforming them into a bright and stimulating play area.

A special contribution to the project was made by greening the yard – 100 cherry laurel seedlings were planted, forming a natural protective fence that will provide children with greenery, the scent of nature, and a sense of warmth throughout the year. The entire process was carried out under the expert supervision of the Discover Serbia team, composed of forestry and civil engineering experts and experienced field activity coordinators, to ensure everything was done safely and with quality. The result is a space that is not only renovated but also enhanced with a lot of goodwill and collective effort, leaving a lasting impact on the community.

Such actions once again show that unity and volunteer spirit are the strongest drivers of positive change. We thank all the volunteers and partners who contributed with their efforts to make “Zemunski biser” shine and for making another place for children’s play safer, more beautiful, and more inspiring, while at the same time inviting other companies to join us. The more of us there are, the more kindergartens and school yards across Serbia will receive their well-deserved new shine and become inspiring places for the youngest to grow up.
