Discover Serbia and GoGreen Team, united in ecological efforts, organized a successful cleaning action of the Crni Rzav riverbank on Zlatibor on July 8th. This initiative, named “Ecological Action Zlatibor,” made a significant contribution to preserving the natural beauty of this area.

The action took place downstream from the restaurant “Kod Batice”, following the course of the Crni Rzav River towards Ribničko Lake. Volunteers, members of Discover Serbia, and rangers from the Zlatibor Nature Park participated. Although the area was extremely “contaminated” due to the recent village fair, joint efforts managed to restore the natural state without the presence of waste.

A total of 184 bags of waste were collected, which is about 10 cubic meters of garbage. This initiative aims to raise awareness about the importance of preserving nature and nurturing ecological values.

The Ranger Service of the Zlatibor Nature Park provided support for the action, demonstrating the importance of cooperation between organizations and institutions that care about nature protection.

The action started downstream from the restaurant, and the group was followed by a passenger vehicle that was available to the participants. After the action was completed, the bus transported the participants to the “Gold” gondola stop. Then they descended to the lake, where the boats of the Discover Serbia Ecological Fleet started cleaning the shore.

The action ended with a return to the “Gold” gondolas, where all participants had the opportunity to enjoy the natural environment, with an appropriate music program.

“Ecological Action Zlatibor” represents another step in a series of initiatives that Discover Serbia implements in order to preserve nature and raise awareness about the importance of active participation in preserving ecological balance.
