The ecological team-building cleanup of Ada Ciganlija, an area that can attract up to 50,000 tourists during certain parts of the year, is a challenge even for the Discover Serbia team.

The action was planned by our expert team, in collaboration with the Ada Ciganlija Public Enterprise and the HR team of Sport Time company.

The task was to choose a moment when there weren’t many visitors at Ada. We decided to carry out the action during a workday, with the support of light rain that allowed us to meet the condition of a discreet action.

The volunteers from Sport Time company, in line with the policy of Nike, whom they represent, were eager to work and sportingly endured the challenging conditions for the action’s realization.

Nike company, with its line of waterproof products, greatly contributed to carrying out all activities as planned, ensuring our volunteers “stayed dry”.

The volunteers were informed by representatives of the Ada Ciganlija Public Enterprise about the importance of this area, as well as the problems that led us to embark on the mission of cleaning the most beautiful part of Ada Ciganlija.

Although there is a restaurant and a weekend settlement near the lake, Ada Safari has managed to maintain the appearance of untouched nature. However, in the forest surrounding the lake, visitors do not choose a place to dispose of waste, so the situation was alarming.

Our 30 volunteers, consisting of Sport Time company employees and the expert team of Discover Serbia, covered a huge area of more than 60 hectares during the 3-hour action. An exceptional result was achieved in terms of the area cleaned and decontaminated. A total of 768kg of garbage was collected, forming a mound of 5m³.

The team members created an excellent atmosphere and turned the nature cleanup action into a fun team-building event from which they returned filled with a sense of pride and satisfaction, having contributed to the well-being and health of nature and visitors to this beautiful place.
