On May 31, the Discover Serbia Association organized Microsoft Family & Volunteering Day – an event that gathered over 200 participants from Microsoft employees and their families. Through exceptional collaboration between the Discover team and Microsoft, this day combined fun, education, and responsibility. Several different teams from Discover Serbia worked diligently on designing and implementing a complex program, ensuring an atmosphere filled with positive energy, unity, and a desire to contribute to nature conservation. Family & Volunteering Day provided participants with an opportunity to enjoy quality time with family through various activities, while also learning something new about environmental protection.

This day began with an ecological knowledge quiz, in which participants demonstrated exceptionally high knowledge and excelled in the competition. The ecological quiz was more than just a game – it served as an excellent opportunity to convey important information about nature protection to both children and adults in an entertaining format. After the quiz, a special and carefully guided activity followed – assembling and painting 60 birdhouses, which the participants diligently and enthusiastically created.

These birdhouses are not just a symbol, but a concrete contribution to nature – they will be installed in one of the upcoming actions together with Microsoft. Special praise goes to the volunteers who dedicated themselves to this task, as well as those who engaged in collecting waste in the park, demonstrating the true spirit of unity and environmental awareness.

The program for children was carefully adapted to all ages, combining learning and fun in the best possible way. Children enjoyed playing and competing on the sports obstacle course, led by a special sports team from Discover Serbia, while at the ecological workshop they gained new knowledge about recycling and nature protection through interactive and fun activities. A chess corner was also set up, attracting older family members, while sports courts for volleyball and basketball provided fun and recreation for all ages.

Special joy was brought by an interactive children’s show where they learned through technological experiments and fun scientific demonstrations, which caused great excitement among the youngest participants.

The LEGO robotics and programming workshop organized by the Children’s Innovation Center attracted great attention and enthusiasm, where children learned about recycling and ecological innovations through play, making their first robots. At the end of the day, all children proudly received medals as recognition for their effort, learning, and contribution to this special day. For this part of the event, we especially thank the Children’s Innovation Center, which premiered competitive maps that will be used at the upcoming Vukovratović Days of Robotics.
