Dear Discover Serbia community,

We want to share with you an inspiring story about a recently conducted ecological action in the beautiful Special Nature Reserve “Obedska Bara”. This spectacular initiative, led by members of the Discover Serbia team, and with about 100 volunteers from Bosch company, has left a profound mark on nature conservation in the Obedska Bara area.

On Saturday, October 14, 2023, an autumn action of landscaping and cleaning of Obedska Bara, one of the oldest ornithological reserves in the world, was carried out.

The action had exceptional ecological value, and in addition, each of the three teams contributed in different ways:

1. Team “Deer”: Removal of protective fencing around young pedunculate oak trees, creation of ecological corridors, and establishment of traditional grazing.
2. Team “Hammers”: Construction of recreational furniture from natural materials, improving the space for over 12,000 visitors.
3. Team “Beavers”: Water team that cleaned the most inaccessible parts of the pond from residual waste, contributing to the improvement of aquatic habitats.

After the successful completion of the action, all volunteers were rewarded with a special traditional lunch, including game goulash, Čačak selection of roasts, barbecue, vegan menu, and dessert. The most valuable volunteers also received well-deserved awards.

Thank you to Bosch company for supporting with special tools that improved the efficiency of the action. Tools such as the Bosch GTS 254 Professional table saw, cordless chainsaws, impact drills, belt sanders, NanoBlade jigsaws, and various hammers were used.
