The Discover Serbia team proudly conducted the first ecological action in collaboration with MSC company at the “Maštarije” kindergarten in Zvezdara. This action aimed to improve the children’s living space and support the kindergarten in creating a more pleasant atmosphere for the youngest.

The “Maštarije” kindergarten faced the challenge of lacking green vegetation around the metal fence, depriving children of privacy and natural protection from the view of passersby. We decided to intervene to enable children to grow up carefree in a safe and aesthetically pleasing environment.

The expert team of engineers from Discover Serbia proposed planting cherry laurel seedlings along the fence to create a natural barrier and provide a discreet atmosphere throughout all four seasons. A berry-free plant variant was chosen to ensure the children’s safety.

MSC company provided significant support for this action by engaging 17 volunteers, including parents who brought their children. Together, we set the goal of planting 50 cherry laurels, enough to enrich the entire kindergarten fence line with green plants.

The educators of the “Maštarije” kindergarten actively participated in the action, along with the kindergarten director, Bojana Kralj. Their support was crucial for the successful implementation of the action.

The action was carried out on Saturday, outside the kindergarten’s working hours, to avoid disruption for the children. When the children saw the new plants in their yard on Monday, their reaction was delightful, confirming the success of the action.

This ecological action not only contributed to the aesthetic improvement of the “Maštarije” kindergarten but also became a symbol of successful collaboration between Discover Serbia and MSC company. We believe we have created a more pleasant environment for children, encouraging them to love nature from an early age. We will continue with similar initiatives to achieve our mission of improving communities and the environment.
