As part of a mission aimed at improving the urban lives of children, volunteers from Yandex company, together with the Discover Serbia team, carried out a spectacular greening initiative at the school ‘Braća Baruh’. This initiative had exceptional ecological significance, with approximately 30 Yandex company volunteers and their children participating.

The initiative began with the planting of 50 cherry laurel trees in the kindergarten yard, thereby creating a pleasant environment for the youngest children. After the successful completion of the planting, the initiative moved to the schoolyard, where an additional 30 volunteers planted another 50 cherry laurel trees. This initiative aims not only to beautify the surroundings but also to improve air quality, create a more pleasant atmosphere, provide shelter from traffic, enhance children’s mental health, and enable them to learn about the importance of nature conservation.

In addition to the planting itself, volunteers organized ecological workshops for all participants, while the Children’s Innovation Center provided free LEGO robotics workshops, offering children the opportunity to express themselves creatively and learn about technology in a fun way.

The Discover Serbia team consisted of 12 members for this initiative.
