Mount Jeljen, Čačak
April 21, 2023
In line with its commitment to environmental protection, the Discover Serbia team organized an impressive reforestation campaign on Mount Jeljen. This ecological action aimed not only to enrich the local ecosystem but also to provide volunteers with the opportunity to directly contribute to a greener and healthier environment.
As part of the campaign, 76 GoGreen Team volunteers, equipped with tools and black pine and mountain maple seedlings, gathered on the mountain. The action was carried out with the expert guidance of forestry engineers and doctors who provided training for the volunteers. This act of reforestation not only contributes to the overall health of the forests but also creates long-term nature conservation effects, increasing biodiversity and improving air quality.
The safety of the participants was essential, so safety experts enabled the participants to focus on their contribution to nature. Refreshment breaks and shared meals also contributed to the social aspect of this ecological adventure. All of this resulted in the creation of a new forest on approximately 1.5 ha, i.e., 3,000 seedlings were planted.
This reforestation campaign not only contributed to the preservation of nature on Mount Jeljen but also became a symbol of shared concern for our planet, inspiring all participants to be part of the solution to current ecological challenges.
