The Discover Serbia Team proudly presented the successfully conducted cleanup action of Lake Međuvršje under the name “Morava Must Be Clean”. This action represents the first deployment of the ecological fleet to a lake and is the result of collaboration with GoGreen Team volunteers and the Čačak tourist organization.

The Discover Serbia Team took on the role of organizer and planned the course of action in advance, taking care of the safety of the participants. The sailing procedure was clearly defined, with two catamarans towing 6 boats of the Discover Serbia Ecological Fleet. During the action, a competition was organized between the crews, with the measure of success being the amount of collected waste. The winning team was the one with the highest number of filled bags.

The catamarans towed the vessels along the entire route, ensuring maximum safety for all action participants, including volunteers. Experienced licensed skippers operated the catamarans and boats throughout the event.

The lake faced a serious pollution problem, especially in coastal areas where mud made access difficult. The Discover Serbia Ecological Fleet proved to be the answer to this challenge, as it is specialized in navigating delicate areas with shallow water and mud.

After the action, the lake experienced significant improvement. An incredible 485 bags of waste were collected, equivalent to 25m³. The GoGreen Team, with its 50 volunteers, significantly contributed to achieving this impressive result.

Volunteers could clearly see the positive effects of their action from the main road. Where there was previously a lot of visible waste on the lake’s surface, now greenish water was reflected, clearly testifying to the efficiency and importance of such ecological initiatives.

The Discover Serbia Team looks forward to continuing such actions, contributing to environmental preservation and raising awareness about the importance of cleaning water resources.
