Discover Serbia and GoGreen Team, under the umbrella of the “Ecological VoLim Expedition“ initiative, once again brought together enthusiastic volunteers to dedicate themselves to cleaning the Lim River and raising awareness about ecological challenges. This adventurous expedition was not only about cleaning, but also about promoting love for nature and environmentally responsible behavior.

This expedition marked the first deployment of the Ecological Fleet to Serbia’s rivers and lakes. Buses stopped at Makiš to pick up the Ecological Fleet boats from the Advance Boat factory. At just 4 degrees Celsius, the team bravely set off from Belgrade toward the Lim River.

Six new boats of the Ecological Fleet shone on the Lim River. Experienced skippers guided volunteers on rafting boats to thoroughly clean the riverbank. This expedition covered the section from the “Rekovići” dam to the hospital in Stari Priboj, covering key areas where the local population enjoys recreational activities.

During the action, volunteers managed to collect a significant number of garbage bags, contributing to river conservation. Waste was collected in over 200 bags, testifying to the team’s dedication and the magnitude of the river pollution problem.

The action was supported by local media, as well as the portal and TV Nova S and B92, providing support for raising awareness about ecological challenges. Additionally, volunteers had the opportunity to enjoy local specialties and products, supporting the local community’s economy.

The expedition’s goal was also educational in nature, focusing on promoting ecology and healthy lifestyles. The team wanted to inspire the community and individuals to actively participate in nature conservation.

This ecological water adventure represents just one step in the long-term fight for nature conservation, and Discover Serbia continues its work on raising awareness and organizing various ecological actions and educational programs.
