This autumn, Discover Serbia continues its successful tradition of collaboration with A1 company, within the initiative Let’s Renovate for Children. After renovating four kindergartens together last year, we have continued our mission of improving spaces where the youngest grow up this year. Thanks to the dedication of the A1 team and their volunteers, the yards of kindergartens Naša radost and Lastavica in New Belgrade have been renovated, gaining a completely new, more vibrant and functional look in just one day.

In the Lastavica kindergarten, A1 company volunteers showed incredible energy and team spirit while, with the support of Discover Serbia experts, they thoroughly renovated and painted the furniture, refreshed children’s equipment, and added new colors to the space where children spend their days. Concrete surfaces were painted with bright tones and shapes that encourage play, imagination, and movement. A1 company also donated recycling bins, in colors that make it easier for children to learn proper waste sorting – creating the first steps towards developing environmental awareness from the earliest age.

On the second day, at the Naša Radost kindergarten, the focus was on greening the space. With the coordination of Discover Serbia’s forestry engineers and the complete logistics provided by our team—from tools, seedlings, and materials to professional supervision—volunteers planted 70 cherry laurel seedlings and 30 ornamental flower seedlings. These landscaped green belts contribute to cleaner air, noise reduction, and the creation of a safer environment, and most importantly, they allow children to care for the seedlings daily, water them, and learn why nature conservation is vital. In this kindergarten as well, concrete surfaces were painted to make the yard more vibrant, welcoming, and stimulating for growth.
Throughout the implementation of these activities, the Discover Serbia team was present from the initial idea to the final detail, providing complete organization, professional support, all necessary materials, and reliable execution—ensuring that every volunteer knew they were participating in a project with a clear goal and visible results.

The collaboration between Discover Serbia and A1 company brings concrete changes and better environments for children across Belgrade year after year. This autumn, we have once again shown how much a good team can achieve when they jointly believe in the same values. We owe great gratitude to the entire A1 team, especially to Jelena Petrović, who was the initiator and key partner in organizing this beautiful event on behalf of the company.

We look forward to continuing our collaboration and renovating new kindergartens together next year. At the same time, we invite other organizations to join us and become CSR companies that contribute to creating more beautiful, healthier, and greener spaces for children. Our vision is clear – that one day every kindergarten in Belgrade will shine with new colors, greenery, and the energy of unity, and it is precisely such companies that help us realize this vision.
