At the beautiful Ada Ciganlija, Belgrade’s favorite recreational area and green sanctuary for many citizens, an inspiring environmental action was organized by Microsoft and Discover Serbia association. In an atmosphere full of enthusiasm and team spirit, volunteers demonstrated that caring for nature isn’t just a duty – it’s a way to make the world a better place. This was the first action that encompassed multiple different segments in a single day, combining education, ecology, physical engagement, and creativity. All activities took place through dynamic teamwork, where volunteers applied their knowledge and collectively contributed to preserving one of the city’s most beautiful areas.

This initiative was the culmination of the collaboration between Microsoft and Discover Serbia to date—a day when ideas, experience, and energy came together. Volunteers collected waste along the shore and trails, painted furniture used daily by visitors to Ada, planted sycamore maples as a symbol of longevity and growth, and installed birdhouses they had previously made themselves during a joint eco-initiative in May. In this way, they symbolically completed a full cycle—from creation to giving back to nature.
The day was rounded off with a fun and educational knowledge quiz, through which volunteers tested and reinforced everything they had learned during the day about ecology, nature conservation, and sustainable practices. In this way, the Microsoft team once again demonstrated their exceptional contribution and commitment to environmental protection, and Discover Serbia prepared valuable prizes for the quiz winners as a token of gratitude and recognition for their efforts.
The Discover Serbia team provided complete organization, materials, tools, saplings, and all necessary support, ensuring that every phase of the initiative proceeded flawlessly. The result was more than just a cleaner Ada—it was the energy felt in every smile, every brushstroke, and every planted maple, all carrying the message that unity can change the world.
