On Saturday, May 24, 2025, another successful cleaning action was held on the beautiful Lake Međuvršje, organized by the ecological organization Discover Serbia in cooperation with the socially responsible company Emil Frey Srbija.

The Emil Frey Group in Serbia operates through its companies: Star Import d.o.o. (general distributor for Mercedes-Benz, Setra and Fuso vehicles for Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania), Emil Frey Auto Centar d.o.o. (retail and service center for Mercedes-Benz passenger and delivery vehicles) and Keos d.o.o. (general distributor for Renault and Dacia brands for Serbia).

This action is part of the broader campaign “Let’s Clean Serbia’s Rivers and Lakes”, which has been bringing together volunteers and companies dedicated to environmental protection for years.
The main goal of the action was to remove floating waste from the surface of the lake, as well as to raise the ecological awareness of the local population. Through such initiatives, Discover Serbia and Emil Frey jointly work to reduce negative practices of waste disposal in rivers and lakes, thereby contributing to the preservation of biodiversity and the creation of a cleaner and healthier environment for future generations.

The participants gathered in the morning, where they were greeted in the restaurant “Dom” with a traditional Serbian welcome – coffee and rakija with breakfast, which created a pleasant atmosphere for the start of the day. After the introductory gathering and brief instructions, an energetic action on the water followed. For efficient cleaning, Discover Serbia’s ecological fleet was used, consisting of 8 ecological boats, which were followed and towed by 3 motorboats.
A total of 56 volunteers from Emil Frey Srbija, known for its strong socially responsible activities, as well as 8 skippers and 3 expert ecologists from Discover Serbia participated in the action. The volunteers enthusiastically and carefully removed waste from the surface of the lake, while the transport of collected bags to the shore was organized using 3 propulsion boats.
The result of the joint work was impressive – 78 bags of waste were collected, including old car tires, which totals about 15 cubic meters of garbage.
