After successfully planting 5,000 spruce seedlings along the ski slope on Stara Planina, we returned to the field to continue our mission. Our outstanding volunteers from the Go Green Team rolled up their sleeves again, this time with the task of providing the planted seedlings with the care they deserve. The seedlings have taken root well, and the green line along the slope is already taking shape as a windbreak – which greeted us as confirmation that we did the right thing.

This time the goal was simple but crucial: hoeing and watering all seedlings. This step enables better oxygen flow to the roots, prevents weed growth, and helps the seedlings better withstand summer droughts.

The Discover Serbia team provided all necessary equipment and tools to ensure efficient and safe work, with constant support from experts and forestry engineers. On the first day, thorough hoeing of all seedlings was completed, enabling better soil aeration and weed removal, while watering was carried out on the second day, crucial for strengthening the root system in summer conditions.

Thanks to good organization and the team’s great energy, every part of the action proceeded in a productive yet cheerful atmosphere. Another proof that motivation, experience, and shared vision are nature’s best allies.

We thank the Go Green Team for their partnership and dedication, which gives special meaning to every return to Stara Planina. We look forward to our next meeting and the next watering, as we know that care is the key to success for every reforested area.
