This Friday, the courtyard of Primary School Kralj Petar I became a space for learning, planting, and connecting through another ecological initiative organized by Discover Serbia, with strong support from Microsoft. As part of the joint mission to raise ecological awareness among young people, 70 lavender seedlings were planted, the soil was enriched with new earth, and children had the opportunity to get involved, learn, and contribute. Microsoft volunteers, through their participation, further strengthened the message that when the community and companies unite—changes occur that are remembered and grow, just like the plants we planted that day.
Special value to the initiative was added by forestry engineers from the Discover Serbia team, who professionally guided the planting and educated those present on proper plant care.

The school’s students enthusiastically participated in planting, transporting soil, watering lavender, and learning how to care for plants. Through conversation and play, we talked about why lavender is special – not only because it enriches the space with its scent and appearance, but also because it has beneficial properties, attracts bees, and is easy to maintain. Participants learned the basic parts of the plant and their functions, and their curiosity, attention, and hard work showed how great little ecologists children can be when given the opportunity.

We thank all employees of King Peter I School for their support and openness to such initiatives. Microsoft has repeatedly proven to be a true ally in the fight for nature conservation through a series of joint actions with Discover Serbia. Their dedication and willingness to contribute concretely leave a strong impression and make a difference.
