We are proud to announce that Discover Serbia is one of 30 organizations from across the Western Balkans that have received support from the Western Balkans Fund (WBF) to implement the regional environmental initiative “Future of Rivers = Future of the Region”.

This project brings together dedicated partners from the region:

• Environmental Movement OZON from Montenegro
• Center for Research and Analysis NOVUS from North Macedonia
• NGO ECO Center from Bosnia and Herzegovina

Together with them, Discover Serbia has officially signed a cooperation agreement with the Western Balkans Fund, aiming to contribute to creating a healthier and more sustainable region through joint activities.

Through dialogue with local communities, river clean-ups, interactive workshops, we aim to raise awareness about the inseparable connection between: sustainable waste management, protection of natural resources, tourism development, and strengthening of the local economy. The initiative will practically contribute to cleaner rivers and improve the relationship of local populations and institutions towards the problem of aquatic ecosystem pollution in the region.

Environmental protection is not just a topic to mention; it is an issue that directly affects people’s health, tourism development, and economic progress in the region.
