In anticipation of spring, with enthusiasm and joint effort, another afforestation campaign was carried out in the Petrovčić settlement. Volunteers from Adecco, together with their clients, planted 1,200 seedlings, contributing to the “Lungs of Belgrade” initiative. Representatives from Schreder, OMR Group, Beko, Frikom, ProCredit Banka, Peri, KONE, Numerator, and The DDC Group also joined this campaign, working together to increase Belgrade’s forest cover by 14%.

This initiative not only contributes to the preservation of natural resources, but also creates new green areas and helps reduce air pollution, which is of great importance for a healthier life in urban environments. Thanks to the dedication of volunteers and companies that supported the campaign, another important step has been taken towards a greener future.

The “Lungs of Belgrade” project is supported by UNDP and implemented in partnership with the Municipality of Surčin, on whose territory the afforestation plot is located, as well as with the Faculty of Forestry, which manages this area.

The project applies innovative methods of planting, watering and maintaining forests, which ensure the long-term sustainability of each seedling. These advanced techniques, developed in cooperation with experts from the Faculty of Forestry, ensure that every contribution to afforestation is effective, long-term and sustainable.
