- 25 volunteers
- 1000kg of collected waste
The beautiful landscapes of Sjenica Lake gained additional brilliance thanks to the exceptional engagement of educators from the Children’s Innovation Center in Belgrade. This time, their mission was dedicated to cleaning nature, and they chose one of the largest tourist attractions in this part of Serbia as their location.
In recent months, educators from the Children’s Innovation Center have conducted numerous ECO workshops throughout Serbia, teaching children how to apply their knowledge about recycling through LEGO robotics. Together with children, they create robots that sort recyclable materials, recycling trucks, recycling centers, and wind turbines as sources of renewable energy. Through this approach, they transfer essential knowledge about ecology and recycling to children and young people, developing awareness about the importance of environmental protection and encouraging creativity and innovation.
To continue being a positive example for new generations, they decided to dedicate their team building to nature protection. With the support of the professional team from Discover Serbia and the Uvac Nature Reserve, 25 volunteers cleaned Sjenica Lake, removing 20 cubic meters of waste despite the tropical weather.
This cleanup initiative at Sjenica Lake demonstrated what can be achieved through joint effort and enthusiasm. Robotics educators from the Children’s Innovation Center once again demonstrated their commitment to nature conservation and creating better conditions for future generations.
Their work is not only an inspiration for children, but for all of us – reminding us that together we can make the world a more beautiful place. Because every action, no matter how small, contributes to great change.
