We are witnessing that our environment is severely damaged due to negligence and underdeveloped ecological awareness, which can and already significantly affects health, the economy, and consequently the quality of life in Serbia. Insufficient afforestation, poor condition of rivers and riverbeds, the impact of climate change, and increasing human neglect for the environment in which and from which they live, pose an increasing threat to human life and health.

In this regard, the association of true nature enthusiasts, Discover Serbia, has been conducting various ecological actions for years, including river and lake cleaning initiatives, as well as cleaning the shores across Serbia, to support efforts to preserve rivers and the overall health of the environment.

In collaboration with companies Coca-Cola HBC Serbia, Epson, and Ekostar Pak, an ecological fleet of the association was formed, consisting of 6 rafting boats. Each boat has 5 separate air chambers and is made of Hypalon Neoprene – the highest quality ORCA material available on the market. Hypalon Neoprene offers numerous advantages compared to other materials. This includes resistance to UV rays and extreme temperatures (whether high or low), resistance to bending, impacts, abrasions, various chemicals, it is durable and easy to repair.

Regarding the rafting boats, all are designed and manufactured according to the highest world standards, they are spacious, durable, and most importantly – safe. They are constructed to be used for ecological actions, recreational rafting, as well as tourist rafting, providing maximum comfort.

So far, across Serbia, with the help of the Discover Serbia ecological fleet, dozens of cleaning actions have been conducted, with all safety and precautionary measures (each boat has a skipper and a crew member with experience from the association itself), as well as many other activities that have contributed to the fight for a healthier and cleaner Serbia.

The goal of the actions is to raise awareness among all people, especially the youth who gather at the rivers, to leave behind a cleaner river and environment than it was when they arrived. The accumulation of garbage and waste in rivers is a long-standing problem for which, unfortunately, there are still no systemic solutions in our country, endangering numerous plant and animal species, biological balance, reducing agricultural yields, and much more. Every piece of plastic removed can save at least one fish or coastal bird inhabiting those areas.

The ecological association Discover Serbia invites all citizens, lovers of rivers, lakes, and a healthy environment, to join them in future actions of removing illegal dumps and cleaning rivers of paper, cans, plastic packaging, and other waste, emphasizing that only goodwill and readiness to roll up their sleeves and contribute to environmental preservation are needed, while everything else will be provided (rafting boats, safety equipment, gloves, bags, etc.).
