As part of the Lungs of Belgrade initiative, a major reforestation action took place on October 25th, where 130 volunteers from Microsoft Development Center Serbia planted 2000 seedlings of pedunculate oak, one of the most valuable native species in Serbia.

As part of the Belgrade’s Lungs initiative, a major reforestation action took place in Surčin on Saturday, October 19, where 5,000 seedlings were planted with the support of Yandex company and their volunteers.
Together with the Discover Serbia association, the GoGreen Team carried out an impressive action aimed at preserving nature and improving the environment in Surčin! An incredible 18 volunteers planted as many as 500 trees on a designated plot in Petrovčić.
We are proud that almost every day new companies join our association’s ambitious initiative to afforest an area of 250 hectares between two forests and create new lungs for Belgrade in Petrovčić.
With the first days of spring, we continued our major reforestation initiative. As of yesterday, Belgrade’s lungs have been enriched with (a symbolic number!) 2024 new trees that will serve to improve air quality in the capital for more than 100 years to come.
15.11.2023. In 2023, on a morning when the rain was incessant, volunteers gathered and set off on their mission, gazing at the clouds. However, upon arriving in Petrovčić in Surčin, nature rewarded them—the sun shone, heralding the success of this ecological endeavor.
Discover Serbia, in cooperation with dedicated volunteers from Holycode company, successfully carried out the Jeljen afforestation campaign. This extremely important undertaking was realized on October 15, 2023, and aimed at restoring forest vegetation in an area that suffered significant damage during a catastrophic forest fire.
Discover Serbia, in cooperation with Microsoft, has successfully implemented an ecological action to collect pedunculate oak acorns. This initiative took place on October 3, 2023, and represents another step towards preserving the most valuable species of hardwood in Serbia.
Discover Serbia, in collaboration with Euronet company, conducted a successful ecological action of collecting pedunculate oak acorns in the Morović Forest Administration. This initiative, which took place on October first, aimed to preserve and protect the most valuable hardwood species in Serbia, the pedunculate oak (Quercus robur).
In line with its commitment to environmental protection, the Discover Serbia team organized an impressive reforestation campaign on Mount Jeljen. This ecological action aimed not only to enrich the local ecosystem but also to provide volunteers with the opportunity to directly contribute to a greener and healthier environment.
