Discover Serbia, together with Microsoft, conducted a significant environmental action at Međuvršje, utilizing two boats from the ecological fleet and one catamaran. This action was also attended by Nenad Stavretović, a full professor at the Faculty of Forestry, contributing his expert approach to cleaning coastal areas.

The CULT Bike Route project, implemented by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Montenegro, the NGO Discover Serbia from Priboj, and the Student Organization of the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering from Belgrade, within the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA II) – Serbia-Montenegro Cross-Border Cooperation Program 2014-2020, was presented at a virtual conference to potential users.
The action in our capital city took place on Saturday, July 15. On this occasion, volunteers from “Yandex” company were engaged in collecting garbage in the wider area of Kalemegdan, including parts of the May 25 Settlement that gravitates towards Kalemegdan.
Discover Serbia and GoGreen Team, united in ecological efforts, organized a successful cleaning action of the Crni Rzav riverbank on Zlatibor on July 8th. This initiative, named “Ecological Action Zlatibor,” made a significant contribution to preserving the natural beauty of this area.
Discover Serbia and GoGreen Team, united in ecological efforts, organized a successful Lake Perućac cleaning action, achieving an impressive result of 428 collected bags of waste, equivalent to 28 cubic meters of refuse. This initiative had significant impact, with participation from enthusiastic volunteers, national park representatives, and experts from the Discover Serbia association.
With the aim of improving the environment and creating a healthier space for the youngest, volunteers from Yandex, with the full support of the Discover Serbia team, carried out an exceptional greening initiative at the Danube Kindergarten. This initiative brought together volunteers from Yandex, as well as their children, and parents whose children attend the kindergarten also participated.
As part of a mission aimed at improving the urban lives of children, volunteers from Yandex company, together with the Discover Serbia team, carried out a spectacular greening initiative at ‘Braća Baruh’ school. This initiative had exceptional ecological significance, with approximately 30 Yandex company volunteers and their children participating.
We are witnessing that our environment is severely damaged due to negligence and underdeveloped ecological awareness, which can and already significantly affects health, the economy, and consequently the quality of life in Serbia. Insufficient afforestation, poor condition of rivers and riverbeds, the impact of climate change, and increasing human neglect for the environment in which and from which they live, pose an increasing threat to human life and health.
On Saturday, June 3rd, a cleanup action was held on the Bosut Canal, which is an integral part of the Zasavica Special Nature Reserve. This initiative brought together more than 70 volunteers from various IT companies from Belgrade. Six boats from the Ecological Fleet were engaged in the action, during which 6m³ of floating waste was collected.
On Tuesday, May 23rd, from 1-4 PM, we organized an ecological action to green the yard of “Sonja Marinković” Elementary School in Zemun, with support from Microsoft volunteers.
