Discover Serbia and Ardagh Metal Packaging joined forces in an unforgettable two-day team building event that combined ecology with Serbia’s natural beauty.
EKOLOŠKE AKCIJE PODRŽANE OD KOMPANIJE „Rosa“
The beautiful landscapes of Sjenica Lake gained additional brilliance thanks to the exceptional engagement of educators from the Children’s Innovation Center in Belgrade. This time, their mission was dedicated to cleaning nature, and they chose one of the largest tourist attractions in this part of Serbia as their location.
Lake Međuvršje has experienced an ecocide during this period due to enormous amounts of floating waste, which was our call to action. Thirty volunteers from the GoGreen team, supported by six rafting boats from the Discover Serbia eco fleet, bravely faced this challenge.
As part of our “Clean the Rivers” initiative, together with volunteers from IVBC company, we organized a cleanup action at Lake Međuvršje, the largest artificial lake on the Western Morava. With the help of three ecological fleet boats and support from our volunteers, we collected about seven cubic meters of waste, approximately 30 bags of floating debris.
We are witnessing that our environment is severely damaged due to negligence and underdeveloped ecological awareness, which can and already significantly affects health, the economy, and consequently the quality of life in Serbia. Insufficient afforestation, poor condition of rivers and riverbeds, the impact of climate change, and increasing human neglect for the environment in which and from which they live, pose an increasing threat to human life and health.
