A total of 1,200 Photinia seedlings (lat. Photinia) were planted as a symbol of a new beginning for young people from the Zvezda Center, to support children without parental care in becoming independent.
We worked diligently, but we also learned something.
The name comes from the Greek word photeinos, meaning “shiny”. This refers to its leaves, which are so smooth that they reflect light as if they were lacquered.
Believe it or not—it is a relative of the rose and the apple.
